The Outcome

Ultimately, it’s about creating energy security for the UK. It's about revolutionary thinking, about kick-starting the energy revolution, by creating more wind power. As the UK’s most abundant energy resource, wind power can play a massive part in the fight against climate change. And, unlike North Sea oil, it will never run out. It’s about people seizing the initiative and creating positive change. It's about working together to achieve this goal.

Our mission

Ecotricity started the world’s green energy revolution in Stroud back in the 90s. We’re proud to be part of a town that cares about the important issues. We're dedicated to changing the way electricity is made. With your support to help us achieve this goal, we’ll find the best sites and build the windmills.

Berkeley Vale - In our back yard

We're looking at the possibility of building eight wind turbines in the Vale of Berkeley. We’re really excited about this one. A new wind park for Stroud District, our home turf.

We built our first turbine here way back in 1996 and, needless to say, we’ve been looking forward to building more ever since.

A quarter of the homes in the Stroud District could be powered by a second wind park in the area - a worthwhile milestone in the fight against climate change.

Climate change and the looming energy crisis (the ultimate double whammy), means questions of how we keep the lights on for our children and grandchildren have never been more pressing. The answer to both is to harness indigenous sources of renewable energy - like wind power. Every turbine is a vital step towards energy independence and securing our future energy needs.
